If you haven't found them by now, initial reviews of our cinematic graphic novel, The Daily Mobster, are starting to appear all over on comic blogs, graphic novel and comic podcasts and other various industry sites. We are so thrilled to say that they are overwhelmingly positive and the word is out - they LOVE The Daily Mobster and the world we are building.

Comic Crusaders Says:

Comic Crusader posts a rave review of Issue 1: The Price of Life and notices all the best details of The Daily Mobster. We can hardly be upset with an opening like:

"This thing is noir. This thing is weird. This thing is cinematic. And most importantly, this thing has identity. Big identity. Jack Kasprzak and Slavik IA are not just making a comic here. They are building a full-on visual crime opera with old-school mobster grime, supernatural menace, dark humor, and the kind of black-and-white atmosphere that feels like it was dipped in moonlight, cigarette ash, and bad decisions."

Comic Crusader has zeroed right in on the dark, sinister, noir vibes of The Daily mobster, and hits the nail right on the head:

It always makes our hearts sing to hear praises of the cinematic and visual design, both of the lighting and framing but of the character design as well:

More like old newspaper cartoons got possessed by German expressionism, then hired a Hollywood VFX department to make them breathe. Faces stretch. Eyes glare. Bodies lean into their personalities. The designs are exaggerated, but they hold emotion."

"The production ambition here is bananas, and I mean that with respect. Indie comics are already hard enough when it is one person drawing pages at 3 a.m. with coffee, panic, and a prayer. This team is out here modeling, rigging, posing, lighting, rendering, designing layouts, building a whole pipeline, and still trying to tell a character-driven noir epic. That is not just hustle. That is beautiful madness."

The art style and character design gets consistent good marks:

"I adored the stylised nature of the gangsters (particularly the very angular mobster, The Wall), and every single character feels very distinctive and unique."
